Inspired & motivated by the principles of education of Mahatma Gandhi, Late Sri Pt. Sri Narain MIsra (Bappa Ji) led to the foundation oF premier Kanya Kubja Vocational Institute.
The continual advancement & progress of the Institute resulted in University of Lucknow granting its permission to commence B.A. courses in 1954 & B.Sc. courses in 1956 respectively. To assist these courses in a favour of students, Central Library was set up in the Institute.
In the Year 1996-97, based on strong recommendation of University of Lucknow, the Government of Uttar Pradesh permitted college to offer Sociology & Hindi subjects in Post Graduate Courses to the students. In the same year, Institute was recognized with Functional Hindi course by the University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi. As a result, books related to these courses were also made available in the Central Library of the College. From academic session 2022-23, PG classes in Economics, Sanskrit, Political Science has also started and process of procurement of PG level books is on at college level.
During the academic session 2001-02, Honourable Governor of UP, permitted the conduction of M.Sc. (Zoology) course in Science Faculty, under the vigilance of Lucknow University. From academic session 2022-23, PG classes in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry have also been started and process of procurement of PG level books is on at college level.
From academic session 2010-11, Commerce classes at UG level have also been started under Self Finance Courses in the college which is declared regular in the year 2022 by Lucknow University. From academic session 2022-23, Commerce classes at PG level has also been started and process of procurement of PG level books is on at the college level.
The college Library is running in Automation mode fully equipped with Integrated Library Management Software(ILMS) “KOHA”. Serving the faculty in a better way, there is one faculty study room having PC equipped with fiber broadband and laser printer. For serving the students in a transparent manner, there are two separate terminals of computers in students reading room equipped with fiber broadband internet and OPAC(Open Public Access Catalogue) facility, a important feature of KOHA. As a whole, there are seven terminals including one master server connecting with Local Area Network(LAN) equipped with high speed fiber broadband internet. As per the Govt. orders of giving Labs/library etc. nominations based on the names of freedom fighters, college central library is renamed as Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya Central Library and student reading room is renamed as Dr. Rajendra Prasad Reading Room in the year 2022.
Presently, the central library is serving the stakeholders based on three faculty & three counters approved by college.
From the point of view of results & discipline the Institute held a prestigious & reputed position in Lucknow. It is one of the best associated college of University of Lucknow, this is possible due to the hard work & ethics of teachers & administrative staff of the college.
The role of College Management is very appreciating and is fully dedicated towards the all-round development of library in favour of stakeholders.
